Text | Georgia Hancock County. This indenture made the 8th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seventeen & in the 41st year of American independence. Between David Averett & Matthew Averett admr's of the Estate & effects of John Averett Dec'd late of the aforesaid County & State / of the one part and Drury Averett of the same county & state on the other part witnesseth that the said David & Matthew Averett admr's aforesaid in consideration of the sum of four hundred to them inn hand paid by the said Drury Averett the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath sold by these presents doth bargain sell alien & confirm unto the said Drury Averett his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county & state aforesaid bounded as follows Northwardly by Little Ogeechy, westwardly by D____ land, eastwardly by Jacob Carter & Amos Hicks land & Southwardly by Wothern's land. Containing three hundred acres, be the same more or less it being part of two tracts of land one granted to John Averett & the other to Richard Worthern, which will appear by a reference to the same, together with all & singular the rights, members & appurtances thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining unto the said Drury Averett his heirs & assigns and the said David & Matthew Averett admr's aforesaid doth hereby warrant & forever defend the said bargained premises from themselves, heirs, assigns and all & every person or persons whomsoever in as full & ample manner as it was held by the aforesaid John Averett dec'd in his lifetime in fee simple in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and offered our seals the day & date above written.
