Text | KENNETH W. KENNA VERONA Kenneth W. Kenna, 75, of Route 365, a former emplyee of Griffiss Air Force Base and a member of Rome Community Theater, died early Saturday, Oct. 17, 1981, in Oneida City Hospital. He had been a patient there for the past week. Mr. Kenna was born in Little Falls, on Oct. 21, 1905, son of William and Jennie Steele Kenna. He married Myrtle L. Stewart on Aug 6, 1928 at their present home. A Griffis Air Force Base supply clerk until September 1962. Then Mr. Kenna worked for the State Thruway Authority as a storekeeper until his 1975 retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and past master of the New London Masonic Lodge. The patron of Vesta Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Mr. Kenna was past grand sentinel of the statewide order. He was also a member of the Consistory, in Utica, and the Oneida Area Little Theater. His work for Rome Community Theater included a role as Edwarde in the recent production, "The Philadelphia Story." Mr. Kenna served for 15 years with Company B, 108th Infantry Regiment, New York State National Guard. He is survived by his wife; a son, Roger K. Kenna of Rochester; two daughters, Joan Drummond of Blossvale and Mrs. Philip (Shelia) Marmelstein of New Hartford; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter, Janet Campanie of Verona. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Chuyrch. Burial will be in Dolgeville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are by the Hammill funeral Home. | |
