Frederick G. Ouellette, Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on Monday, October 12, 2015. He was born on December 7, 1924 in Rochester, NY to his parents, Frederick Oliver Ouellette and Marie Rose Boland Ouellette and is pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret, grandson, Andrew and his brother, Gilbert James Willette and sister, Viola Marie Wendland. Fred was orphaned at an early age and was raised by the Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Mary's Boys Home, Rochester, NY. Fred attended Worcester Poly Tech and had a career in the X-Ray business, which included a former partnership in Buffalo X-Ray, followed by several entrepreneurial pursuits. He was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps 461st Bombardment Group where he received a Certificate of Valor in recognition of his courageous service of 35 aerial combat missions over Germany. He served as an aerial photographer and backup radio man. Fred had many interests that included dabbling in his workshop, ham radio, electronics, photography, and he was an avid ballroom dancer. He served a term as the Secretary of the United States Amateur Ballroom Dance Association, Daytona Chapter and won several prizes for his costumes at the annual Halloween dance. Fred loved to play practical jokes and had a great sense of humor. Fred is survived by his loving partner, Susan Wall of 36 years (her three children, Leslie Harari, Angela Winquist, and William Wall, Jr., and four grandchildren, all of California), his six children, Frederick Ouellette, Jr., Thomas Ouellette, both of Tennessee, Beverly Ouellette of Colorado, Barbara Ouellette, Charles Ouellette and his wife, Julie of Debary, FL, and Jeanne Davis and her husband, Ed of Ormond Beach, FL, as well as five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A service will be held at Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach on Saturday, October 17th at 10 am.
